Your job plan for each field is drawn up on your office computer and then filed on a PDA. You take this to your tractor and transfer the data either using a wireless or serial connection. The on-board computer files the work as it’s done and this is played back onto the hand held unit. After the job’s done this is then fed back into the original office computer and the whole operation is fully documented. This method saves time, improves the quality of the data and makes your record keeping much cleaner.

ASD opens up the opportunity for the farmer to integrate all the equipment working on the farm into a comprehensive database regardless of make, type and model. Actions such as the amount of fertiliser spread, number of hectares or acres worked on and the time needed are reliably recorded by the on-board computers and then transferred to the management software.
